Why I recommend these
I was done with supplements
until I understood the difference
I have been taking supplements since my early twenties. Not because I was particularly health conscious back then, but because I had no choice. I discovered I was allergic to antibiotics and had to go through four rounds of treatment for strep throat because I reacted to the first three. Hives, rashes, severe stomach cramps. The doctor told me fairly matter of factly that both categories of antibiotics were off the table and this was going to make things difficult for me moving forward.
That was enough. I decided right then that I was going to learn how to look after my health naturally. I had no idea how I was going to do that, but I knew I had to figure it out.
So I tried things. Vitamins. Herbs. Oil of Oregano. Vitamin D. Echinacea. Rescue Remedy. Liver cleanses. I went to health food stores, naturopaths, and even a medical doctor who prescribed vitamins. I spent hundreds of dollars and still felt no different. I remember standing in a health food store staring at an entire wall of supplements, all claiming to help, all priced differently, and feeling completely lost.
For years I had no idea if my supplements were doing anything. My pee was neon yellow. I figured that could not be a good sign. I was told it was just vitamin B, that my body was getting rid of what it did not use. That seemed plausible, but I kept thinking: am I absorbing any of this?
Eventually, I made a decision. I was done with supplements.
A few years later I was visiting my dad on holiday when I landed and immediately felt awful. Sore throat, white spots, the whole thing. I knew it was strep. My whole history with antibiotics came flooding back and I panicked. My step-mom offered essential oils. I had no idea what an essential oil was, and honestly, it sounded completely crazy. I did every bit of it anyway.
By mid-day the next day the spots were disappearing. By day two I felt fine. I finished my holiday. I went home, looked up the website, thought it seemed a bit much, did a half-hearted Google search, and let it go. It was a year before I decided to place my first order. But when I did, I never stopped.
One day my husband asked me if I could order him their vitamin pack. At this point I was only ordering oils. For the next three months I would order him his vitamins every month and not touch them myself. One day I was complaining that I was exhausted and he looked at me and said: if you would just try the vitamins, I bet you would not be tired anymore. I stopped. He had been quietly getting better for three months while I ordered his vitamins without trying them. I gave it three weeks.
Three weeks later I was standing in my kitchen and I had so much energy I stopped what I was doing and just noticed it. And when I used the washroom, my pee was normal. My body was absorbing them.
What made the difference was understanding that quality, sourcing, testing, and absorption actually matter. doTERRA works directly with farmers, not distributors. Every batch goes through 54 rounds of testing. Their vitamins are whole food based with nearly 90% absorption. And when paired with their essential oils, absorption increases even further. That combination does not exist anywhere else on the market.
I recommend doTERRA because I was every woman standing in the supplement aisle, spending money, and wondering if any of it was helping. I have had clients come to me overwhelmed, throwing solutions at problems they did not fully understand. I have had a client who was genuinely scammed by something she found online.
Here is what I know now that I did not know in my twenties. You do not need to be dependent on a store employee or a naturopath to manage your own health. When you understand what your body needs and why, you just need a quality source you can trust. You can be your own expert. That is exactly what I want to help you become.
